Chef Jagger Gordon (Celebrity Chefs for Feeding America) recently spoke with the Washington Post about Feed It Forward, his holiday campaign designed to help raise money for The Food Bank of the Southern Cone and Domestic Violence Services. Food banks provide vital resources for rural, poor people living in the 14 counties in the Southern Cone, and serve 40,000 people every day. The Domestic Violence Services of the Southern Cone, which partners with The Food Bank of the Southern Cone, has been serving people in Richmond County, Virginia since 1985. It provides services including social services, shelter, transitional housing, rape crisis counseling, transportation, and training, and it operates seven shelters.
Feed It Forward officially launched last December and has raised more than $27,000 so far. This year’s donations will go towards supporting these food banks and help provide over 1,300 meals a day.
