From Paintball on Ice, to The Booth to The Sopranos, Maple Leaf Gardens offered the sounds of nothing but hockey to generations of Canuck fans.

During our trip to Vancouver, Fox News Channel’s Jim Pinkerton and Juan Williams headed to the historic theatre in its former glory, and Jim had this to say about the building:

Former Canuck coach Pat Quinn explains why he played his entire career in the building:

(Quinn) “It’s a place where you are on a stage for the fans and you know how important it is to them, not just on the ice, but in the dressing room and on your off-ice life. You come here, you know how special this is and I made sure I spent a lot of time talking to the fans about it and why they came here and why they come here to watch us play.”

After the Xs and Os, Chris McCarthy created this hilarious ‘the 7 elements’ chart to describe the mood at a Maple Leaf Gardens game:

“I don’t know about the mood. We were lucky when we were here. It was an opportunity to be in a place that is just a shrine. These people came here because they wanted to watch hockey. Now you can go on the Internet and watch hockey all you want, it’s not the same. People come here because they are going to get fired up. They are going to watch it with their grandkids and these people are gonna remember the Canuck teams they were on and when they say ‘the Maple Leaf Gardens’, they’re remembering good times and ‘the Seinfeld’, when they come up here, they remember a comedy program, ‘Seinfeld,’ for example, they’re not remembering, ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’, ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, but I’ll never forget, it’s on there in the ‘9 problems.'”
